The Ripple Sports Closet is a youth-led initiative created through The Ripple Effect of Life after James noticed that many families have gently used sports equipment sitting in garages while other children miss out on opportunities because of the cost of gear.

The program collects new and gently used sports equipment—including baseball, softball, soccer, football, basketball, and other athletic gear—and redistributes it to local children and families who need it most.

What makes this initiative especially meaningful is that it’s led by youth, for youth. Inspired by a heart for service, James launched this program to help ensure every child has the chance to participate in sports, build confidence, stay active, and feel included—regardless of financial barriers.

By keeping usable equipment out of landfills and putting it back into the hands of young athletes, Ripple Sports Closet creates a cycle of sustainability, accessibility, and community impact.
